BSB Mining Group manages projects focused on the development of antimony and gold-bearing ore deposits, among others. The projects include mining, processing, and the production of finished products (ingots). The companies owning the deposits hold mining licenses.

I. Antimony deposits in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan
Tajikistan ranks among the world leaders in antimony reserves and is one of its largest producers. In recent years, the global antimony market has become more active, with growing demand and rising prices. Against this backdrop, it is essential to enter the market smoothly and confidently to secure a firm position.

Antimony is a chemical element with the symbol Sb and atomic number 51, representing a silvery-white semi-metal with a bluish tint. As a metalloid, antimony is used as an alloying additive to improve hardness, mechanical strength, and thermal and electrical conductivity of alloys. Lead–antimony alloys are commonly used for producing plates in lead-acid batteries.

Applications of antimony include:
  • Battery production
  • Anti-friction alloys
  • Type metal for printing
  • Small arms and tracer bullets
  • Cable sheathing
  • Matches
  • Pharmaceutical products (including antiprotozoal agents)
  • Soldering materials (some lead-free solders contain up to 5% Sb)
  • Linotype printing machines
In its refined form, antimony is also used in the production of fire-resistant compounds, ceramic enamels, glass, paints, and pottery. It serves as a corrosion-resistant material in household equipment and in manufacturing pipes for transporting acids and other aggressive liquids. Antimony is increasingly applied in the semiconductor industry for producing diodes, infrared detectors, and Hall-effect devices.

General information and reserves
The deposits are located in the Sughd Region of the Republic of Tajikistan on a designated land plot at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level. The area is economically developed, supplied with electricity, and accessible by road (the deposit is about 3 km from the main paved highway). Water supply is available from the nearby river and natural springs.
The site includes several ore fields, with exploration conducted during the Soviet period. The following reserve estimates are based on those data:
  • Category C1: Ore – 694 thousand tons; Antimony – 21.776 thousand tons
  • Category C2: Ore – 363 thousand tons; Antimony – 8.126 thousand tons
In 2023, additional exploration by a foreign company confirmed significantly larger reserves — over 1 million tons of antimony and other precious metals within the same area.

Technological characteristics
Tests were carried out using flotation and gravity separation methods. The best results were achieved using the flotation process, yielding an antimony concentrate containing 42% Sb with a recovery rate of 72.9%. The main part of the deposit is planned to be developed by open-pit mining.
